Two-ribbon pin of 1909 Tigers
The Detroit Tigers won their third consecutive American League Championship in 1909. They would lose to the Pittsburgh Pirates in seven games in one of the most heralded World Series in the history of the game. This is a two-ribbon pin featuring their manager, Hughie Jennings, known for his inspirational yell (Wee-A-Aah), and pitcher Bill Donovan. Both the Tigers and Pirates players are featured on individual pins comprising sets (to be presented in a later section on pins in sets).
