1909 Teck Haskins

1909 Teck Haskins

A cartoonist for the Columbus Dispatch, Billy Ireland, drew a character named “Teck Haskins.” The sports editor of the paper, Ernest Barnard, would later become president of the American League. The colors of the pins match those of the Pittsburgh Pirates, and in 1909 the local baseball team, the Columbus Senators, finished in 7th place in the American Association.
