1961 6-inch Go Go Reds dated
The 1961 World Series between the American League champion New York Yankees and the National League champion Cincinnati Reds was an anti-climactic ending to the lead baseball story of the year: Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle both trying to break Babe Ruth’s single season home run record. The Yankees would defeat the Reds in five games. Cincinnati had not played in the World Series since 1940. For the New York Yankees, it was business as usual.
